Today I want to show you some awesome stop-motion video find on Vimeo.

Stop motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.

THE SEED

The Seed from Johnny Kelly on Vimeo.

A two-minute animated voyage through nature’s life cycle, following the trials and tribulations of a humble apple seed.
The film was kindly funded by Adobe, made using their CS4 range of software. It was produced at Nexus Productions and features a soundtrack by Jape. It was made using a mixture of stop motion papercraft and 2D drawn animation.

THIS IS WHERE WE LIFE

This Is Where We Live from 4th Estate on Vimeo.

A film for 4th Estate Publishers’ 25th Anniversary. The film was produced in stop-motion over 3 weeks in Autumn 2008. Each scene was shot on a home-made dolly by an insane bunch of animators; you can see time-lapse films of each sequence being prepared and shot in our other films.

This movie tells the story of the japanese sports brand ASICS and won a Grand Prix at the Eurobest, gold at the New York festival, gold at the London International Awards, silver at the Clio in Miami and two times bronze at ADC Germany.
